We have 2 POS systems - same account. One of the IPADS is not working and we cannot close the drawer. The 2nd IPAd is a different connection and will not physically fit on the square stand that needs to close the drawer out. Any suggestion on how to have a seperate drawer set up for each register? And can you close the drawer out behind the scenes so that the 2nd register will operate normal? Open and Close out each day.

The iPad that is down you will not be able to close the drawer unless you get it back up and running. This is not a big deal the only thing it does is give you a cash total for the drawer. You can get this from your dashboard. Just look up cash sales for the day.
With your 2nd iPad, you can track drawer cash but it will not trigger the drawer if it will not connect to the stand unless you have an ethernet printer and printer driven drawer.
If you have a two iPad one drawer situation this is how we handle the drawer. (I don't use the square stand and we have an ethernet printer that both can print two and access the same drawer.
- We have register 1 (main register) and register 2 (extra)
- Every day we open register 1 with $100.00 starting cash and register 2 with $0.00 starting cash.
- We ring sales with both registers during the day using the same drawer.
- At close of day we close out register 2 and enter the same amount is shown as expected cash. So if we sold $100.00 we enter $100.00. We always show a zero difference on this register.
- We then count the drawer and subtract register 2 funds from the total. In this case, we subtract $100.00.
- We enter the difference as the in-drawer closing amount. This will give us our over and short for the day.
This has worked for us with no problems.
