How do you end cash drawer? Owner and administrator receive message "you do not have access".

cash drawer was opened 1) with wrong amount (and we can not edit), 2) we can not end drawer as it states employee does not have access.

In order to track commissions i need everyone signed up on their own login. We are unable to do so as we can not end drawer.

This is all from an ipad.

States administrator does not have access.

I don't see when utilizing laptop or desktop any info about cash drawer.

Very sorry that you're experiencing this issue @DebbiePr - that's definitely strange that both the owner and adminstrator can't close the drawer. You might need to double check that you are signing in with the right email address and password.

In the meantime, you can also close the drawer from your online Square Dashboard

To make sure everyone at your business can close/edit the drawer you'll need to update your employee's permissions from your Dashoard:

  1. Sign in to squareup.com/dashboard and navigate to the Team section.
  2. Click Permissions > click on the name of a role.
  3. Toggle Access Shared Point of Sale ON (this is at the top of the screen).
  4. Scroll down and check the box next to Manage & Open Cash Drawers.
  5. Click Save and repeat these steps for any other employee roles who need to have this permission.

Phone support is also available from 6am to 6pm PT, Monday through Friday if you'd like to call in!

Hey @Jeanet

From the menu, go to Reports > Cash Drawer > Current Drawer > End. If you don't need to track drawer activity, turn off Cash Management in Settings.

Hi @JustinC,

Thank you. I will try that. I have another question: The first time that the cash drawer issue happened, I select ‘end drawer’ and the strangest thing happened - the amount of $0.01 cent was sent to my back account (there was no payment card used) so wondering how an amount without an actual transaction could be sent to my bank. I don't know what I did, and I don't want to do that again. Would you enlighten me, please and thank you.

@JustinC,

Thank you. I will reach out to them. As you know, I’m new to Squareup.

I tried doing my first checkout today and it didn’t go well. I did ok up to the point of the customer wanting to add a tip. And try as I could, I could not find out how to make it happen. And, I couldn’t find a tutorial on it. Your help, again, would be sincerely appreciated.
