Email Communication Settings- many glitches!

I'm finding the editing of emails for online checkout amazingly counterintuitive. It seems to be full of glitches. Not sure where to begin but I'll list a few problems:

 

1. The email preview when editing does not match the test emails I'm getting. For example the editor says "Pickup Location" while the test email says "Your order will be ready for pickup." There is apparently nowhere to change this text. There's also a "View order details" button in the header of the test email but not the editor.

 

2. Under "your order will be ready for pickup" in the test email there is a white space with a link to add to calendar but the text that says the date is missing. Why? This button/link ALSO doesn't appear in the editor.

 

I'm sure there's more but I don't to spend more time on this as it feels like a frustrating waste of time. Please help.
