I was contacted by a customer saying they couldn't checkout on my site. Even though they added something to their cart, the option to checkout wasn't available. I haven't changed anything in the back end and can't figure out why checkout isn't an option. The only option is to add more items or add a gift card.

Thanks @TheEmbassySTJ . Sorry I didn’t reply yesterday. My day off! LOL. Anyway, I looked at your web site and see the same thing you do. I don’t really see any reason this should be happening, so I’m betting this is related to something in your particular account — an internal setting or something that got messed up somehow. It happens, usually inexplicably. Anyway, you need to get on the phone with Square Customer Success Team and see if they can track this down for you. They can sign directly into your dashboard and look around, but they need to verify your identity and get your permission to do so.

Thank you. I was hoping I didn't have to contact customer support last time I did that I was on the phone for 2 to 3 hours. Everything was working fine and now all of a sudden...this. Thanks again! @TheRealChipA

While I'm not an expert when it comes to donations my guess is it's still treated like an item, which means you might want to check your fulfillment settings as well as your checkout settings. Set them up even if you're not selling any actual items and see if that allows you to checkout with a donation.
Other than that like Chip said you may need to contact support if setting up fulfillment/double checking your checkout settings doesn't fix it.
Please Require Customers to pick time/date at checkout for Square online. Thanks!
