Hi there, @Allegro1213!
Right now, tap to pay is not available on the iPad. Our product teams are working to make this possible in the future.

Hi there, @Allegro1212 - thanks for reaching out and joining us here on the Seller Community.
Have you checked to make sure that both your software for your POS and your device itself are both fully up-to-date? Often pending software updates can cause intermittent delays and issues with processing certain types of transactions.

My device and app are up to date, but the reader "tap" function still does not work. I hasn't worked from day 1, but I never kworried about it since back then not many cards had that function. Now that nearly ALL cards have it, customers want to use it. Do I have to purchase a new reader or can I return my reader in exchange for a new one?

Hey @QuinceEssential,
Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your reader. You may still have warranty on your reader. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

Great! However, we have had the reader over two years, so I doubt it is under warranty.
Can we exchange it for a new one?
Thank you,
Robert Siegel

@QuinceEssential- The reader cannot be exchanged for a new one once the warranty has expired. Have you reached out to our Customer Success Team for additional hands-on troubleshooting steps?

Hey there, @Allegro1212.
I do not have any knowledge on what will be necessary if tap to pay becomes available on the iPad. I wouldn't think you would need to get a new reader, but Square is always making updates to the functionality of the hardware.
You can, however, do tap to pay with an iPad if you use the Square Stand. I definitely want to clarify that if any sellers come across this thread.
