Card reader disconnected
My card reader (chip plus contactless that is connected to my stand) shows connected to the stand (both "stand" and "reader" have check marks), shows the green light to enter the card, but as soon as the card is entered, it gives the message "reader disconnected." I've never had this happen before. So it's not a connectivity issue, possibly a hardware issue? We can still swipe luckily.

@bigforksugar Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the reader! Are you able to try updating the app to 5.94 (available now via the app store) and check if this fixes the issue at all?

@bigforksugar I have had the same problem. Go to your app, go to Settings ---> Hardware ----> Reader ----> and tap on it and see if you can find the "firmware" version number.
My firmware version number was 337114. Normally the POS app will update firmware on readers as needed. I would take the reader out of the dock, hold down the button until the lights flash red, make sure your pos app is up to date (go into app store, manually select app, and update may not always show until apple notifies you, but will be available). Reconnect your reader and see if it updates/fixes the issue.
If this doesn't fix it, the reader may have become stuck and you may need to request a warranty replacement. If you want to send me a PM I can give a link to request a warranty return and Square will send you a new reader in a couple days and you can send the old one back. This actually can help them identify a problem.
But please, let me know if you are showing the same firmware number. I had 2 readers I had to replace and have had no more problems, but it was a very specific
