2 step verification nightmare
I need to get rid of this 2 step verification using a cellphone. I DO NOT have one. My business is a landline number. I had to use a friend's cell # and now everytime we use the square it asks for a verification which sends that person a text!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every #@#$@# time. I DO NOT WANT this 2 step verification. Why can't it call my landline and voice a code to me? Or even send it to my email>???? I may have to stop using this all together. I have a Square Register and we use tablets ets. Please help with this.

Hi @Alacarte. For now the best you can do is turn off two-step verification all together. Obviously the way it is implemented with Square doesn’t work for you since you don’t have a cell phone.
There is supposed to be a way to remove a phone number from your two step verification settings screen. However, my account doesn’t have the Remove button. So I’m going to recommend that you call the Customer Success Team here and someone should be able to help you remove the cell number and disable two step verification.
There is a way to use Google Authenticator instead of a cell phone. You’d need to download the Google Authenticator app to set this up, but maybe that would work for you.
If my answer resolves your issue, please take a minute to mark it as Best Answer. That helps people who find this thread in the future.
