big commerce, square and in person art show sales

I have a website set up using bigcommerce, where a few of my sales there are items that do not cross over to my in person sales, i keep them separate, due to inventory and i cant oversell an original.   I would like to have everything in one location, so to speak.  my ipad is only for in person sales, they do not go through bigcommerce.  what i would like is to be able to set up a square website, be able to have inventory tracked across in person and online sales.  I have canvas/paintings that i only have one of's so if i have everything set up, if i sell one online and i happen to be selling at an art show, i dont want that item to show there is stock at the art show, via ipad,  if it has, by chance, sold that same day online....hope i am making some sense.  is there a way to do this?  again, if this is something i can do completely with square, i would leave bigcommerce.  (i know there is a square set up with bigcommerce but i havent been able to  get this answered from there).  Thanks for any insight into this issue.

Hey @anjave

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

Are you referring to having two separate inventories (one for online, one for in-person) but all under one location?

@pessosices @GlassJudy @ACAcatering any insight from a seller POV here?

Yes, Isabelle, i believe that is where i will have to go with this....i was hoping to have this all cross platforms, so to speak, with the inventory updating for online and in person pos's but that is not sounding like it is an option for updating.  i also do not want all of what i sell in person to be on the website and vise-versa.

Hey @anjave

You definitely can do most of this with square, but it is missing a key feature for you.

You can have the same items in your Square Online Store as on your Square POS, using the same inventory to track.

If you have 0 in stock left, on your online store it would say out of stock and no one will be able to buy it through your online store, but currently there is no such safeguard for your POS device. You could accidentally sell a 0 stock item on your in-person POS unfortunately.

This has been an oft requested feature, and hopefully it would happen soon!

Thank you, Pesso....that is something i was really hoping for, updating across both platforms, i will need to figure out how to do this website....looking for some to be online with other artwork to be in person....i am thinking categories will have to be redone and then show what i want to be seen where?
