Square for Retail receiving stock via scanner not working

Anyone else use Square for Retail (paid version) to receive inventory and noticing that scanning SKUs suddenly no longer works? Well, it works, in that it appears to register a quantity (we scan one book and the number 1 appears), but then when trying to accept the stock we're being told that we "must add a quantity" and are having to manually manipulate the number (toggle from 1 to 2 and then back to 1, for example) in order to actually receive anything. This started yesterday, 12/7, and is slowing us down drastically in trying to receive hundreds of books at a time. Sent a message to Square this morning but wondering if others are seeing the same thing. Thank you!

We're seeing it too in purchase orders--we scan an item to add to a purchase order and nothing seems to happen, but when you click into the field you can sometimes get the item as a dropdown and select it. But that only works about 70% of the time. Otherwise we're having to manually search for each item.

So it's been 2 weeks and no response from Square on this, besides a generic troubleshooting email that absolutely does not apply to the problem I'm having.  Extremely frustrating at the busiest time of the year when I cannot sit on the phone with them during business hours. @admin any help here?

Today I went to receive some items and I am not sure what your procedure is but on my Square Stand here is my procedure:

1) Bottom right press More

2) Items

3) All Items

4) Tap the Search area

5) Scan my barcode

This finds the item and then I adjust quantity as a recount or received items.

 

Usually I use a desktop computer for receiving items and update the csv file of squares catalog that way.

That is how I used to receive items, but now we pay extra for Square for Retail specifically because it includes an inventory receiving function that allows us to scan multiple items as we take them out of the box and then receive/accept the new stock all at once. It's a huge timesaver, versus opening up every item and manually adjusting the stock for each one.  This functionality is what is not working, and it's the main reason I pay for the Square for Retail subscription every month. Yes, we have resorted back to the old manual way of receiving stock, but I am hoping they can fix the problem with the "receive stock" functionality that people pay extra for.

I need to learn your way then since I also have the paid Square for Retail and I missed the memo for doing the new way.

 

Just looked this up and Tried on my Square Stand.... Scanned Item got the 1, like you said but wanted 13, typed in 13 and jumped to 113..... urgh   then had to delete (back space) 3 times to get quantity to 0 then enter 13.  Also, when I tried to scan in that Search field I needed to Press the Scan Icon before the Scanner would be enabled.  

Well my stand just updated to Square for Retail 6.32, now it scans but enter 1 for quantity as a default, but will not accept it as a quantity since it is the default, I need to delete 1, then enter 1 again   what a PITA..... Square should have designed this that the default number is BLANK or that 1 Can be a Quantity to enter without deleting 1 first to add 1 of the Item to stock.

 

Not sure why I am having the same problem you mentioned above also and I am on Square for Retail 6.32.  So it sounds like an Update did this since it just started and mine just updated this morning to 6.32 today.  

 

I would suggest Calling Square support to mention this to them since this forum is used by mainly other sellers helping other sellers.
