Square Loyalty Update - Introducing the new Square Loyalty!

Welcome to Square’s Customer Engagement and Loyalty Product Updates!

 

We are here to make sure you have the latest in product improvements and feature announcements as they come out! We are continually working to make sure that once you get your customers in the door, you can keep them coming back! To make sure you don’t miss a thing, subscribe to receive an email every time we update our loyalty program.


We are excited to announce the new and improved Square Loyalty, a digital rewards program specifically designed to inspire repeat customer visits and boost the overall value and ticket size of each of your customers. There have been major changes made to the look, feel and overall functionality of Square Loyalty – many of which were requests from both Square sellers and their customers!  

 

Key changes include:

  • Your customers will now receive rewards on every Square Register transaction, regardless of payment type. Check it out.
  • You are now in complete control. You have the ability to fully customize every reward program, everything from which location rewards are offered at to the specific types of transactions they are applied to. See more here.
  • You can now look up and adjust punches in no time at all right from your Square Dashboard or in app using your customer’s phone number. Find out more here.

 

Along with the release of the new Square Loyalty, we have also updated the pricing structure. Square Loyalty will now be $25 per month per location (you can toggle loyalty on and off per location). If you are currently using Square Loyalty or want to start, you will need to visit the Loyalty section of your dashboard. Everyone who upgrades is eligible for a 30 day free trial of all the new features.

 

A few things to keep in mind:

  • If you are a current subscriber of “Customer Engagement Pro,” you will need to update your loyalty program but you will not be charged anything on top of your current subscription Customer Engagement Pro price.
  • If you currently signed up for Square Loyalty, starting between 4/22/2016 and 6/21/2016, you will keep your current pricing but you can upgrade now to take advantage of our new features.
  • To continue using Square Loyalty, you will need to upgrade by 10/01/2016. Your program will be paused if you do not upgrade, but don’t worry - your customers won’t lose their punches.

 

Let’s dive into these new improvements!

Receive rewards for every transaction.

  • Your customers no longer need to receive a receipt to accumulate stars! While the older version of the Loyalty Rewards program (punch cards) required that you send a receipt with every transaction in order for your customers to receive a "star" or "punch" towards their reward.
  • Regardless of the transaction type, your customers can earn stars & rewards! Even if your customer uses cash, check, or even a gift card, their rewards can be applied.
  • Customers can earn multiple stars per transaction, if they purchase more, they get more! Previously, customers could only earn one star per transaction.

 

Your customers now have visibility into their rewards.

  • We have added a new Loyalty screen at the end of each payment in Register so you and your customers will know right away where they stand with their rewards. IMG_0032.PNG
  • At the end of a sale, your customers can now decide to join your rewards program just by entering their phone numbers! IMG_0027.PNG
  • Any important information will be sent through SMS text right to your customers!
  • Using your customer’s phone number, they can link up multiple payments methods so they can have all of their cards working together to get rewards!

 

You can customize exactly the reward you want your customer to receive.

  • You now have the option to offer your customers rewards by the visit or by the dollar amount spent, allowing you to find the best fit for your business.
  • You can also offer rewards for any transaction, even if the transaction has already been discounted or includes a free item, so your customers will never have to choose between a sale and a reward.
  • You can choose to activate Loyalty at all locations, only some or none at all. Your rewards are now up to you!

Administration just got easier!

  • You can redeem your customers’ rewards with a phone number. There is no need for 6-digit codes from reward emails.
  • You can lookup your customers’ loyalty status and reward totals right in your Customer Directory. You can also adjust rewards right from your Directory!
  • You can enable each of your employees to have permissions so they can adjust loyalty status of your customers as well.

What's with removing the free rewards program? The "new" program is a joke. I got an email stating whats "changed"... The only "update" is that it's going to cost monthly now. You haven't added any features. You guys are slowly losing what differentiates you from other POS systems. Doesn't take many more changes like this to keep your customers from having no reason to keep you over the other cloud based systems.

I like the Loyalty Program; it works well for our store and what we do here. I was delighted when we were able to select which categories were awarded. I believe it would be helpful for us, the owner/operator, if we required our customers wishing to signup for the Loyalty Program to select from an email preference list so we can target their interest. I would most definitely send out more emails with information on New items, Sale items, available classes, and helpful hints on products.
