Reverting to previous check out format Square Retail

A week and a half ago there was a Square update and now our checkout format on the terminal screens is completely different. It is cumbersome, unattractive, hard to read and NOT what we signed up for. These changes should not be forced on businesses!  Can someone please advise on how to revert to previous format???  Four phone calls and 6 chats later we have received ZERO help from Square and are furious.  ANY HELP APPRECIATED!

Hi @Furious.  I hope I’m guessing right, but here’s your answer, I think.  From your Retail POS, click on More > Settings.  At that point, you should see a screen like the one in the screen shot below.  Toggle “Enable the new cart experience” off and you should be good to go.

Chip, I SO appreciate the advice, but sadly, I do not have that screen.  This same issue happened once before maybe 2-3 months ago and we called Square and did get the same advice you gave. At that time, the option to turn off 'enable the new cart experience' WAS there and we did it.   Another update this time and that option is nowhere to be found. We're so mad about it!!! Thanks very much for trying to help!

There are a lot of people all having similar issues and everyone seems to be getting ZERO 000000 help from Square and it no word from Square about a fix for this.

 

We reached out a couple of months ago and still nothing. It's costing us money and time. We are ready to leave Square after years of being with them because its just becoming a far too often problem with them putting out products that just don't work right or have the basic functionality of a POS. They care more about driving money through their financial Cash App and banking programs than fixing core features that their customers depend on.

 

Shame on Square!!

We are somewhat new to square, 3 years now.  This is ridiculous that they change this without our permission.  Every time they do this, we have to retrain people.  Once we figure it out.  

no help from them is alarming with so many businesses depending on their system.
