As a community, I have seen that multiple sellers/subscribers (myself included) are interested in seeing feature changes to the way inventory transfers & auditing are done. Currently the only way to initiate/facilitate transfers is via the web platform and is incredibly obnoxious to use with a scanner of any type without manually reprogramming the scanner to not auto-enter after the scan. Additionally, inventory management and reporting should be made more easily accessed/filtered & exported. Change reports/loss reports etc are VITAL to a retail environment.
In summary:
Transfer inventory from one location to another utilizing Square Retail POS & Mobile Retail Apps.
- This can be done by "Invoicing" another one of your locations for products and marking them as transferred. Invoices already have the option to adjust inventory - allow us to invoice our own locations or build a transfer into the apps etc.
- fix the online experience to allow scanners to work better with the system.
Inventory/Adjustment History
- Like inventory transfers, any counts/recounts should be documented as a single event that can be pulled after the count is completed as a bulk list of items counted.
- Loss/Shrink can only be tracked with viewing a "change log" for variants. The current system only allows you to filter counts and recounts but not any further nor does it allow an export of anything.

@sayra - Can we bubble this issue up with the other issue mentioned in https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Square-for-Retail-Group/Grouped-Item-Sales/td-p/287270

Agreed, this is something that is pretty badly needed. Is there a way to use the API to achieve something similar? Right now we create a PO at one location so that they can receive inventory. That inventory comes from our warehouse location, but inventory has to be removed manually from the warehouse. A transfer between locations doesn't allow us a PO to check quantities received once inventory gets to the retail location.
PO to invoice between locations would be an ok solution too, just need something better than what we have now.
Currently we have our stockroom set up as a second location (after a discussion with our rep). This is an area that we're able to pull from during store hours. Unfortunately, we are not able to transfer stock using the app, nor are we able to see second location (stockroom) inventory numbers from the app.
This is creating a number of issues, the biggest of which is our inventory counts are sometimes off.
Can these features be added to the app, and not just the online Square dashboard?

Hi @EmpireBricks 👋 Thanks for posting. Can you confirm the exact app name you are using, as well as provide the version number? Can you also please let us know the device and model you are using? Did the issue first start when you added the second location?
I'll be on the lookout for a reply from you, and thank you in advance for your patience while we are researching this.
