Prices for all variations required to be be visible online?

When I create a new item, I add an option called Condition which inludes New, Pre-owned Complete & Pre-owned Incomplete.  Today when I added a new item and went to save, a new message popped up saying that prices needed to be added to each variation in order for it to be visible on the website. In order to have the new item to be visible, I have to delete any variation without a price.  I have 1,000s of item already created with multiple variations.  Am I going to need to delete variations any time that I add more inventory to an existing item?

I am trying to figure out why you would have Items for sale on your website with No price.  How will your online store know what to charge your customer?   In Retail you can leave a Price blank so an assosiate can add the price in manually.  We do this for our Wholesale sales.  We scan the item 'Wholesale' type in the invoice # in the notes field so we have record of that invoice being paid.  We do not use Square for our Invoicing and use another system since wholesale orders are made per order usually.  But for an online store if you have a Variation with no Price, who is entering the price, the customer?

Now you could export your catalog as a csv and sort by price.  This would give all items with no price grouped together for you to edit quicker.

Having a price set on a website for items you sell or want to sell is a standard requirement so your online host knows how much to charge a customer.  Samething would apply if your using a QR code to charge a Customer.  Would you trust the customer to enter thier own price?

We sell new and used LEGO sets.  We don't always have a set in stock in each condition.  By creating all the variations when the item is first created saved us time and kept all item entries consistent.  If a used set came in, all l I had to do was add the current price and quantity and the update was done.

What would happen if you Select the variation that you have no stock in, from your Dashboard -Items- (item) - Variation

then Uncheck the Available for sale in the Details area for in store, or Manage Stock Check Mark as sold out on Point of Sale and Online?

Then when you get another used one in you can adjust the price then make it available again.

Also if you have Tracking on it should show sold out once it hits the quantity of 0.  The price may still show but wont be able to be sold.

Then once you add the recent items Quantiity and update the price and save it, it should show online again.

@Candlestore Thanks for the continuing suggestions.

I created a Test Item with all 3 condition variations.  I gave each one a price, but only marked the new condition as having any in stock.  The website then shows a price range from $0.50 to $100.00.  Not ideal, but no messages when I save the item.

I then went back into the item and un-checked the available for sale option for the pre-owned complete condition.  I receive the message below when I click the done button.  I am not sure what exactly is being asked for.
