Percentage based discounts off of net sale, not gross sale.

Sorry if this is the wrong group for this post. I've been a user of square since 2010 or so. I've always taken advantage of discount options as soon as they became available. I also use square marketing to send promotional emails with percentage based discounts. Its always bugged me that if I combine a hard cash discount (e.g. Buy 2 get 1 = -$X) and then apply a percentage based coupon as I get the customer plugged in and check their discounts, that the percentage based coupon applies applies to the gross sale, instead of the sale after cash discounts.
Obviously there are other ways to get around it, cost adjust manually etc. but are there any plans of ever including advanced features with discounts?
- Percentage off gross or net sale
- Item or category limits without also auto application of discount
- Email coupons that require a user action to claim instead of auto awarding to every email recipient?
Thanks in advance for any info you might have.

Hey @DesertShop!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community and being a loyal seller over the last 10 years.

I know we're looking to make our discount settings more sophisticated - surely you've noticed that manual dollar discounts cannot be applied at the item level, which is something we've been working on for a long time.

For commonly used dollar discounts, consider creating an automatic dollar discount or separate price points.

Your feedback is great, and I wish I had a roadmap I could share in regards to our discount settings. Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out.
