Is there any way to do a full store stock count?

My store does annual inventory counts, and we have ours coming up soon. For our procedure, we require our inventory count to be compared to our entire store's inventory. However, Square For Retail's stock count only shows discrepancies for items that we counted, and ignores stock items that we didn't count. We have over 10,000 sku's to look at, so this makes it very difficult and tedious. Is there any way around this, or does anybody know a way to perform a full store inventory count using square, or if there are any app integrations that could perform the procedure?

Hello @beautifullife

Square for Retail on iOS has the ability for multiple people to do a full stock count by using their iPhone cameras. Go to Inventory -> Stock Counts, and you will see it.

Here is an amazing thread on how to zero out your products and best tips/tricks to do a full stock count.

Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Has anyone encountered weird stock issues using full or cycle counts with products that have units and subunits? For example, if I scan the five subunits (boxes) and then five full units (cases), the tracking gets "off." I haven't figured out why, yet...if its user error or a bug.

Hey there, @kcfscm2018

Just want to make sure we're on the same page - whenever you scan those items to restock, the inventory tracking gets turned off?

Is this happening with all of the items when you scan the stock?

I will keep an eye out for your reply👀

Not turned off. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. Inventory counts are saved different from what was entered, or not saved at all. I’m trying to replicate it intentionally, but I haven’t had time with holidays. We are finding unexplained discrepancies in stock counts of items part of a cycle count just a day or two earlier. So, something is amiss. I’m going to do more investigating later this week to replicate or see if it’s user-error.
