I carry consigned goods as part of my stock. I have the free POS version. I assign my vendors as categories and pay them out at the end of the month. Is there a way to generate an itemized report of all vendor items sold in a given timeframe based upon their assigned category?
I really need to give an invoice of items sold during the month so vendors know what items sold that equal the amount on the check I write them.
Is this something that happens with the paid version? Is it possible to do it in the free version?

From the Dashboard if you goto Reports>Category Sales. You can then choose the date you wish to view the data, Year, month, week date etc.

Thank you. I've been doing that for overall monthly totals but I guess what I am looking for is an itemized list of items sold by category. That report shows me total number of items sold but not the individual items sold. I'm trying to avoid a tedious, end of the month inventory process but that might just be the price of business. I may have to revisit my commission rate though LOL

Ahh yes some things I found are more tedious than others, especially when it comes to the reports of any business. I'm not sure if this will help, or if you've done this already, but in any given time period you choose, you can also click on the "items" sales and that may break it down more to what you are looking for.
Hope this helps

Hey there! I have the exact same issue and searched for the answer and came upon your post. I think I figured it out, though!
I made a monthly sales report by item and downloaded it as a CSV. Then I opened it up through Numbers on my Mac (I assume Excel would be able to do this, too), and asked it to create a new sorting category, and I added "Category" as a category, if that makes sense. Then it sorts them all as a list, with the highest selling category first, but all itemized and together!
Hope that makes sense. Ask me for any clarification, because yeah, this would be a bitch to do manually!

Thank you! I have a friend who is rather good at Numbers so I'll sit down with him, show him your advice and get him to help set me up.
