How can my customers redeep an egift card in store?

I've seen various things about linking a card or using the barcode on the recipient's email but none of these things actually work. The recipient's email contains no barcode and I can only enter numbers on the POS - the gift certificate email code has letters and numbers

Thanks for raising this with us - That sounds frustrating!

I haven't personally come across this issue before where the QR code or barcode aren't showing on the customer's eGift Card email. If your customers emails are missing these details, I would be reaching out to our Support Team ASAP to raise this with them. It certainly doesn't sound like expected behavior and may require some further investigation. While awaiting a fix on the emails, here are a few steps you can consider:

Firstly, what device are you using to access your POS? The reason I ask is that not all devices support the ability to scan the QR code or barcode using the device's front-facing camera. If your device doesn't support this, you will see a message prompting you to connect a compatible barcode scanner to your device instead. If your device is supported, you will see the option to select the small camera icon.

Your other options to load the eGift Card include manually typing the redemption code into your app (as you have mentioned), charging the customer's Gift Card on File, or looking up the customer's email or phone number in your Customer Directory.

eGift Cards sold online are automatically linked to the recipient’s email. You can search for these by selecting Charge > Gift Card > Gift Card on File. Those sold in the app are not automatically linked to a customer, but you can manually add an eGift Card to a customer profile.
