Has there been an update to the label system? All of a sudden so many of my labels are not scanning
Hi, Is anyone having issues with bar-codes all of a sudden not scanning? Is there an issue reported that I have missed? I have dymo labels that I print through square, and a bar code scanner purchased through square. all of a sudden i get maybe 25% of my codes are scannable.

We have not noticed any problems scanning our barcodes at our store today. I have noticed when I print my barcodes or have some that have been touched often, the barcodes are faded or smudged and are harder for the scanners to read. I have also tried to print too small of a barcode and that gives the scanner issues too when its on the edge of its capabilities.
When you have a problem scanning the barcode, look at it to see if it is close to other text, or appears faded or smudged. You may want to try to slow down your print speed and darken the barcode. I use a zebra printer and the faster speeds tend to be harder for the scanner to read also. When I adjust the darkness and the slow speeds combined I can get more of my smaller codes to read.
I am not sure if you can adjust the for mentioned settings with dymo printers as this is just an observation I have noticed with my Thermal printers.
Do you get an error that the item is not listed or would you like to add this item, or just no read at all? Depending on your scanner could the batteries be dying in the scanner? Not fully charged for he day? Just some other things it could be.
I had to replace my rechargeable batteries in my wireless scanner which is why I ask this.
