Discounts on printed receipts are really confusing my customers (and me to be honest)
I have attached an image to this message twice and each time I save it, the image disappears. Basically what the image shows is a receipt of a customer buying 5x of the same $15 item = $75.
Instead of taking of $3 each item or showing a flat $15 discount, it lists FIVE discounts: $1.83, $2.29, $2.86, $4.47, and $3.57. That is so confusing, PLUS it’s 2 cents more than the discount should be.
Our store has a promotion at Farmer’s Markets that give a 20% discount when someone buy 5 items or more from us. This is what the receipts looks like with these discounts. Mathematically, it is correct, but, boy oh boy, the amount of time I waste checking people out and having to take the time to explain the weird way the discounts are shown. Is this a setting I can change somewhere, or can I request it be presented better?

At this time, all discounts will be grouped at the bottom of the receipt and not under each item. I agree, it's confusing at first sight but that's how discounts are designed to appear at this time.
Hopefully the Product Team makes some changes to this in the future. @AaronCP

Once again, I don't think you understand.
I UNDERSTAND that each item is discounted individually.
They were five IDENTICAL $15.00 items. That's $3.00 off per item with the 20% discount.
The receipt showed FIVE discounts of seemingly RANDOM numbers that DIDN'T TOTAL $15 (the expected total discount). I mentioned this. The discounts were $1.83, $2.29, $2.86, $4.47, and $3.57.
They should have been $3.00, $3.00 $3.00, $3.00, and $3.00.
NOT $1.83, $2.29, $2.86, $4.47, and $3.57.
Are you on the same page with me now?

I just put in a feature request for this. In over 2 years from your post Square still has not made this easy for our customers receipts. I have 2 links in my Request and tried a work around posted by someone else to select an Item to apply a Dollar Discount to 1 Item but Square will not let you do a Dollar Discount to one Item only % discounts to an Item. Then the chaos of the $ discount being applied to every item on the receipt is really confusing.
@JustinC -
Can you tell me why Printed Receipts for Customers would be designed to be confusing and not as straight forward as it is on the Square Stand screen as shown in the Video link I posted in my Ideate which is linked above?
