I live in Va and mostly where I sell the sales tax is 5.3% I want to potentially go to markets in other counties and the tax rates in those counties is 6.0% How can I be sure it will automatically add based on where I go? I created a tax for 6.0% for Richmond and surrounding areas, but it did not have an option for me to add the zip code. Would the system know to automatically apply it when I'm in that area? As you can see in the screenshot the sales tax is added but it doesn't show a zip code for the new one b/c there was no option to add it.

We have taxes set up for 8 states, you don’t need to add a zip code for each tax location. When you go to Richmond and surrounding areas, just got to Settings/Checkout/Sales Taxes, Turn off Virginia and Turn on Richmond and Surrounding areas. When you go back to the Virginia area just turn off Richmond and turn on Virginia. It’s will not do it automatically.

Thanks, that is a lot easier than what I thought would have to be done. One of the main reasons I did not look into fairs accross state lines.

@Candlestore We have 8 states entered in our sales tax setup. One good thing tht square does, In Minnesota there is no tax on children's clothing, but there is on blankets, hair bows and backpacks. So in the Minnesota tax section we can go in and turn off all the clothing but leave everything else taxable. That makes it really easy.

I have the same here in Pa, Clothing and some food Items have no tax but my other items have sales tax. When I entered new items I just turned off the tax when creating the item(s). I just did not know how easy it was to adjust the sales tax for different areas or states if selling in person for an event once or twice a year.
