Hi @southerndish406≥. Unfortunately, since it says it is not configured, you will have to click on that printer in the hardware settings and reconfigure it. You could try to have a support person track down why it is no longer configured, but I doubt anyone could, really. Sometimes these things just happen. It’s a computer, after all! LOL. I know it happens if you have to delete and reinstall the Restaurants App, or any POS app. But I’m not sure what other conditions might make it lost its mind.
Best,

It's on my Ipad register stand. I've deleted the app and reinstalled, verified it's the latest version, unplugged everything and prayed as I hooked it all back up - and nothing. In the hardware section, there is no opportunity to uninstall the printer and reinstall. Very frustrating.

I think you can get around this, but it’s not intuitive at all. Here’s what I did:
- Go to More -> Settings -> Hardware -> Printers. If there is a receipt printer listed there, click on it, scroll to the bottom, and click “delete printer station.” If there is NOT a receipt printer listed there, so much the better. Go on to step 2.
- Then go back and click “create printer station” and set it up again from scratch, choosing whichever printer is your receipt printer in “select printer.” To help in verification, give it a different name than it used to have. Save that.
- Go back to More -> Settings -> Hardware. Your printer should be at the top of that page, named with that different name I asked you to use.
It should work fine now. I’m not sure why Retail is doing this, but I was able to get around it this way on my system.

Yesterday I left at 4pm and my partner was at the store. All day the receipt printer worked fine, Network Connection. I left got home and get a message why is the receipt printer not printing? She unplugged it and a few other things. I did a video call with her and walked her to the settings. Had her check our CC only Ipad Stand.....That printed a Test receipt and was enabled. Our Main Stand would not print a test receipt and was not enabled. Had her check the IP address on both Ipads for the printer.... for both, both were the same. Tried to reinstall the printer on the nonworking stand and it could not Find the printer. Next was check versions of Square on each... Update pending on the one not working. Updated it.....still not working. Told her to Turn off WiFi on that Ipad....count to 10.... Turn on Wifi. Now it had the Printer and it printed test receipt. Checked the IP Address.... same IP address as before and same as other stand. No idea what happened and Both stands are given a Static IP address from our router. I checked this by logging in to my router from home and bammm both Stands were on my network, 1 printed receipts one did not. So it was not like the one stand was on the wrong Wifi.
No Idea what happened just telling you by turning off the WiFi on the Ipad then count to 10, and re enable it, My printing issue was fixed.
Both systems on Square 6.18.2 now.
Hope this solves your issue.

Hi all! Just spent a whole work day on the phone with Square trying to work through a number of issues. One issues required me to update my app, which in turn messed up my printer. Was unable to identify that was the issue with the Square rep, after going through connecting and disconnecting printers resetting etc, it boiled down to me assigning the printer to a profile and that "configured" my printer. I feel the wording of assigning to a profile was misleading and I didn't feel like it was a mandatory thing so I didn't bother trying. The rep didn't even bother to ask which could have saved me a good 2 hours so here is my recommendation to you (the proverbial) you that will end up on this page in frustration like me):
-Make sure your app is up to date
-Make sure your printer is up to date
-Go to the printer section in hardware
-A make sure the printer is assigned to the profile you need!
I hope this saves at least one person the hassle that I went through today.
