Can a MacBook (pro, air, or imac) be used as a POS Square system? I like the bigger display the MacBook has but I am unsure if the Square app can be downloaded and if the cash register/receipt printer/barcode scanner can be plugged in and used like a register.

@Hackettsorchard I am not sure about how apps behave from the app store with iOS when on a macbook. I would assume it "might", but it is not a supported pos app solution...but

You can use any pc with a connected terminal to use square:

https://squareup.com/us/en/payments/virtual-terminal/computer-pos

The virtual terminal works great in your web browser when you pair it with the forward facing terminal to finalize payments. I think this might solve your problems very easily.
