Ability to sort (ascending/descending) on item library fields

I understand that the item library has been sorted alphabetically and many conversations are going on in the community group about this.  I like to see an option for me to sort (basic alpha numeric sort) on header columns. 

One of the use cases we have is the creation of new SKU's.  We currently have to download the entire directory, then in xls do the sorting and filtering.  These are unnecessary time-consuming steps to just determine the next available SKU number.  If I could sort in the item library I would have that answer in a matter of seconds.

Another really great suggestion for our Point of Sale! I never thought about that before, but providing that SKU example really helped. 

Please keep sharing this with any other merchants you know that want to see this come to fruition. And make sure to provide details examples, just as you did.  We will re-visit this feature request and keep you posted.

This feature would save us a lot of time. I'm constantly having to download our item library in order to filter and sort it properly. It's wild that some requests for this extremely basic functionality are now almost 10 years old and it still hasn't been implemented.
