square kiosk

I had some questions about square kiosk functionality before switching to it.  (I currently use flash orders)

1: Can the customer select for here or to go?

2: Can the customer input a phone number so we can text them when the order is ready?

(if so, do we text the through the orders dashboard similar to  a qr order or do we text them through the kds?)

Thank You

Hey @Dimitri2

With the kiosk they can select whatever dining options you've got set.

If they enter their mobile number then it's fully automatic when checked off on the KDS so that would be the obvious way to do it with a single tap!

As it's loading a web page each time I can be a little slower than Flash & you also pay per screen instead of by location (this could make it a lot more expensive if you're running a lot of screens!) but those are the only areas where Flash wins. In every other area the Square version is just a dream!

As it's fully integrated all your updates are instant and can also be managed from the Square dash or app rather than having to navigate the Flash app for everything. I really wanted to use the Flash app here in the UK but it just wasn't up to spec for me.

The onboarding isn't the smoothest right now, but it's still in beta so they're making improvements all the time and there's a lot of support from the team. It's just that it's got it's own little section on the dashboard but that then takes you to a web design bit, a devices bit or somewhere else and it's not that fast to find your way back to where you were.

If you've been using QR ordering and like it then jump on it as you'll love it!

Hi @Sam_400º

Thank you for the info.  Sounds like the integration is ideal.

However We do run 3-5 screens in our locations.

Might be an issue...

Thanks Again

Dimitri

Update.  I have been running Flash Orders Along with Square kiosk.  Square wins on integration as menu items automatically get updated.  Same goes for cutomer rewards they are able to access their rewards coupons etc.

Flash Order wins on layout, customer experience and ease of use.  Flash is much easier to navigate for some who is not tech savvy.  For example when clicking an item Square shows the item, if you want to modify you need to scroll down.  So customers don't see modifications. Square you need to tap, scroll, swipe, drop down, check box

vs flash the only this it tap (no scrolling, drop down menus etc).

On Flash you select a item and the modifications pop up and all show on the screen.  If you want to modify again you tap on the specific modification.

This is understandable as squares kiosk is based of their website.  Flash orders is specifically designed to be a kiosk and simplicity for the customer.

Thanks
