Hello 👋 @Nacdotson.

Welcome to the Seller Community! One of the best resources we offer to stay on the loop with any Square outage is our site issquareup.com. Here you can view updates in real-time. You can also send us a message via any of our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter) to get your questions answered while we find a fix.

I wish there was more I could suggest but outages can affect a very specific part of our POS system so it's hard to identify a solution at this moment.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

When square goes down you have a couple options.

1.  Turn on Offline mode.  You can swipe cards, and the register/POS will store the information and send it once square returns.

• A card can get declined and you are out the money

• You can set the limit of "offline transactions"

• It can be a trick to get square POS into offline mode. If there is any network response from square (even if it wont process) the software will try to authorize.  I had to unplug the Ethernet and turn off wifi to keep the register in offline mode.

• Everything is stored in the machine - Its possible to lose all the transactions (money)

2. Keep using square to register the transactions and process through a different Merchant service.

•This is frowned on by different providers.  (I have an EBT device that will also run credit cards)

•This is slow and time consuming.

3.  Keep a manual receipt book - and go to cash only transactions
