Turning Off a New, Added Feature

Hi. There has been a new update with Square that shows unnecessary information on my ordering page when taking orders. It shows the name of who “sent” the order. How do I remove this feature. I use Square for Restaurants. Thanks

Thank you for your patience. Our team has confirmed the recent update to the user interface, which was intended to help track the last time someone was served alcohol. However, I fully understand that this change has disrupted your workflow, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience it’s caused your business.

 

Please know that I’ve shared your concerns with the team. Unfortunately, there isn’t a workaround or plan to change this at the moment. 

 

If there are any updates, I’ll be sure to keep you informed. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. If there’s anything else I can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

It’s extremely unfortunate that I’ve posted a couple issues in this forum due to recent Square updates and neither of them have been resolved. The Square team seems to have the same answer for most of the questions/ problems that people have. I hope these concerns really do get sent to the proper team for a resolution. Thank you for trying.

Oh, that's interesting @amatos 🤔 Is that person the customer that ordered, or an employee that put in the order?

 

I will see if I can reach out to the team to get some clarification on this feature, and how to turn it off if possible.

Employees name shows up and it gets in the way when reading the order back to the customer. Thank you.

Hey @amatos

 

To better assist you, could you clarify what you mean by "hard to read back to the customer"? Are you referring to the visual layout of the information? Also, would it be an issue if the employee's name appeared below where it lists the onions and mushrooms?

To better assist me is to go back to how the screen looked before- with no name under the product description. There has to be a “turn off” for this feature. This issue is simple to understand. Please help me find a solution for this.

Yes I am referring to the visual layout. And yes, its an issue with the employees name showing near the item/ toppings.
