Mark as Ready for On-demand Delivery doesn't alert driver

For some reason, the Mark As Ready button for On-demand delivery orders alerts the customer rather than the driver or the delivery company (in our case, Door Dash). We had a situation of a small order that was completed before our default prep time, and we marked it as ready. The customer got the message it was ready, and the driver was not alerted and wasn't going to pick it up for another 40 minutes. The customer was very angry, and we had to contact Door Dash to try and get a driver ASAP. We need the Mark As Ready button to alert the delivery company / driver, not the customer.

And after Mark As Ready is triggered, it becomes Mark As Delivered. How would we know when the order has been delivered? We only know when it has been picked up. This On-demand delivery functionality is half-baked. We need some common sense built into this thing... but that could be said for most of Square's products.

The Mark as Ready feature is intended to notify your customer, but is not currently built out to notify a driver via a 3rd-party app.

This would be considered a feature request at this time, @luckythaitn

@Valentina there was no mention of a 3rd party app. This is On-Demand Delivery offered by Square through the Square POS.

You mentioned that you are currently using DoorDash for deliveries, @luckythain.

On-Demand Delivery through your Square Online website is supported via an integration with DoorDash or Postmates, which are both 3rd-party apps. Sending an in-app or text notification to a DoorDash or Postmates driver would require building out that specific type of integration with the app the driver uses to pick up and deliver orders - which is a feature request at this time.

The only way to offer delivery without leaning on a 3rd-party app would be to hire your own drivers, and use In-House Delivery instead.
