Is there a way to remove priced modifiers from customer printed bill?

Wine bar/wine shop uses same wine inventory for dine in and retail. We have our wine bottles priced at retail in the system, but if its a dine in we select a priced modifier to reflect the price on the bottle that’s visible to the customer. Is there a way to not print the priced modifier line on customer bill?

No. example: 
-all wine bottle prices are set at retail prices in Square POS with the following “wine” modifier:

— dine in=$10

— retail=$0
-price on bottle ‘x’ is physically marked $30 (dine in price) in our bar. The same bottle ‘x’ is set at $20 retail price in Square.

-so, customer dines in; server selects bottle ‘x’ in system at $20 then selects wine modifier of “dine in” which adds $10 to the retail price making bottle ‘x’ to a total of $30 (dine in) price.

The customers bill shows a price of $20 for bottle ‘x’ with a “wine mod” line of $10 = a net total of $30. I do not want to display the priced modifier line on the bill. Just display the total dine in.

@c59 realistic answer is that’s not gonna happen. 

It’s a really specific usage that actually hides stuff from the customer. 

I’d personally use variations for the price control, but this would cause issues if you’re using the system for stock control too. 

The two other ways would be to simply have two separate items, or play it the other way - have the dine in price & then apply a ‘take out’ discount.

The customer knows the actual price; it just looks strange when they see a $10 add on the bill, but in the end it equals the amount they physically see on the bottle.

The reason I have this setup this way is because of the limitations we found with different setups (as you mentioned as well).

- Variations mess up the stock.  

- Reversing the Square POS item cost setup where “dine in” is the initial price then discount from there would require server access to discounts, mess up online pricing, etc.  

Looks like Square has an option to not display modifiers, but it will always print priced mods.  Need a 3rd function to not print out any mods and that would solve my issue. 

Note: I’m in the trial phase of Square... getting to know the system.

We have the same issue - since the discounting in Square for Restaurants is so broken, we've resorted to making a modifier set to charge our club members the least amount, and adding back in the price difference in a modifier called Retail.

Our menu reflects both prices, but it is jarring to see the additional charge on the bill. It would be great to be able to hide priced modifiers. Or even better, allow for discounts to be applied to just one item on a bill easily!

I reached out to the Square for Restaurants Product Team to confirm some details. Here's what they've let me know:

"Restaurants users can indeed discount a single line item: Lots of times, the item behavior can be confusing to Sellers if they have "Automatically Add Item to Check" enabled in their item settings. If the item is going into the sale with a single click and it isn't loading the notes and options where the discount can be applied, all the Seller needs to do is click the item in the current sale > click Modify >  Then, they can discount and add all the notes and dining options to that line item.

Additionally, Restaurants users are only able to hide the modifiers on a customer's receipt if and only if they do not have an upcharge price associated with that choice."
