How to add pickup times in Square Restaurants

My restaurant uses Square for restaurants. Customers can place online orders and choose a pickup time. You can enter a pickup time in the virtual terminal. How is there no way if a customer calls to place an order for a specific date and time to enter that time directly into the POS. Ie. Can I place an order for 630PM. There’s no way to enter the time. Someone help

Hey there, @BBQ5.  Unfortunately, we here in the seller community can’t answer questions about how/why Square doesn’t have a certain feature.  But, in your case, you have identified one that doesn’t exist but should exist.  For now, there isn’t much in the way of immediate help I can give you.

 

The only current workaround is to put the pickup time into the transaction notes field, which will then be printed on kitchen checks and/or sent to KDS devices.  But since this is just a free form notes field, it can’t be used in things like the Orders list to sort by fulfillment time, etc.  But, at least it works.

 

Otherwise, the only thing you can do is head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to the Restaurants Team.  This will get the ball rolling for an evaluation of your request and the team will let you know once they have made a decision.  If you do this, please post the link to that request here.  I, for one, will definitely like/upvote it, though as an ice cream shop I really have no need for pickup times since we don’t start making it until the customer is standing in front of us.  Still, it is a good idea with what I think will be strong appeal to many sellers.
