Has the "Sub" Modifier been updated yet?

I've seen several threads regarding this preference but no resolution yet.

I use the "Sub" Conversational Modifier to substitute and ingredient that is already included in the price and would prefer this modifier not add a charge. I see a lot of sellers also have this stance and I can't find out how to or if it's possible change it in the dashboard. I have to select "No Spicy Mayo" and then type in "Sub Wasabi Mayo" otherwise it tries to charge the customer. Can we opt into NOT charging extra for a substitution without having to type it in every time by hand?

Thanks a million!

Hi @nwortel,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to your question!

Could you possibly provide links to previous threads discussing this same issue? While I haven't personally come across widespread reports from sellers, I'd like to ensure visibility into this feedback from our Product Team.

If I understand correctly, when the "Sub" conversational modifier is used, you'd like to nullify the price for the Wasabi Mayo ingredient, even if it's normally charged when applied to an order. Is that right?

We'll be sure to keep a lookout for your reply here!

If you type "sub modifier" into the search bar, several pop up right away.

So the sub modifier shouldn't nullify any price, I would like it to have an option to charge $0. Substituting items of equal value doesn't cost more at our business... I understand that's not the case for everyone so just maybe a feature where you can choose whether or not the conversational modifiers automatically charge. If some ADDS wasabi mayo, it costs .50 but if they SUB it, it shouldn't charge.

Thanks!

Hey @nwortel,

That's a great suggestion! Feel free to share your ideas in our Ideate Room here. Our Product Team regularly monitors this platform and values input like yours to enhance our products.

Have you considered creating a separate modifier for substitutions or removals? This could enable you to include these adjustments at no extra charge.
