Has anyone tried a different android KDS screen besides the ones that Square recommend?

I was using the "MicroTouch IC-215P-AA2" for one month until my kitchen staff broke it.

I've seen on Google different Microtouch's screens, and cheaper. (Microtouch IC-215P-AW2-W10)

Have you guys tried to use the KDS with any other screen that is not listed on "Square Hardware List of Compatible Screens"?

Hey @leandrobadiglia - having a search for the model you've said it's a Windows machine and so can't run the KDS. 

The KDS should run fine on any modern Android tablet (just needs 2gb+ Ram). 

How did your staff manage to break it?

They dropped the “transformer” from the power cable and cracked that thing. But it had a big hole on it after cracked.

Then they left on the floor and washed the floor throwing water over it.🤬🤦🏻‍♂️

So I took to see if a guy that I know could fix it…. He tested everything and at the end, the LCD screen that burnt would need to be replaced… but that would be around $450. Not worthy.

Oh man! 

I'm using the Elo 22" one and have had more than my fair share of issues with that. Mainly down to me not really understanding android more than anything else though! 

I've got an alert set up on eBay as that's where I got mine from and generally they don't come up very often. 

I've been trying to weigh up between the larger 'commercial grade' and something like the Samsung Tab S9 Ultra. The latter is expensive and smaller (15") but water and dust resistant and gets much longer updates etc. 

Honestly - I've got no idea 🤣
