Connected Terminal and Square for Restaurants Next Generation

Hello, I loaded the beta for Square for Restaurants Next Generation, and I understand that the Connected Terminal is one of the features that isn't currently supported, however I am not sure what that means. 

For instance, I am able to enable all my devices, including the connected terminals, and they all seem to be taking pre-auth for the CC's. 

For testing purposes I only enabled my Register for the Square for Restaurants Next Generation. When doing so, any checks opened on the terminals do not show up on the register and vise versa. 

Is this the feature that is not supported when they mean Connected Terminals? OR do I need to enable the Square for Restaurants Next Generation on ALL my devices in order for them to sync?

Also, when enabled on either device, when using the floor plan it just takes me back to the main screen and does not allow me to open up the check for that table.
