Hi All,
I'm a small business owner from Australia, we operate a Asian fast food/ takeaway businesss.
As we are New to the Square community, I was wandering if anyone has any experience or solutions to our situation.
We are looking to setup the Square App in our store to compliment our existing systems. We have already set up the items in the app, created catergories, and bought a new ipad ready for use. However, we have two issues, one being language function, and the other being restrictred use of the wifi router point.
To elaborate, one of the biggest challenge we have is the need to have ticket orders printed in chinese for our kitchen staff with limited english skills.
I have recently expereimented with Fresh KDS where I have setup my items to consist of english and chinese characters.
I did this in order to see if chinese character show up on the Fresh KDS app in order to eliminate the need for paper tickets.
Unfortunately the Fresh KDS did not recognise the chinese characters, and instead only showed blue ????? .
Another challenge we have is the existing wireless/modem router have a existing pos system in use. Due to the lack of space, it will be impractical to set up two pos system in the same area on counter top.
As such, I want to ask the community if any one has had any experiences in using Square Pos and needed to translate the orders into a particular language.
Also, if any one has any experience using the STAR TSP Bluetooth or wirelss printers - if anyone can confirm for me this printer will print chinese characters ?

Hi @kettlebox, welcome to the seller community and thanks for bringing up these issues.
I wanted to circle back with some more clarification. Regarding the language request, while the ability to change the default language isn't available, you can add Chinese characters to the item name and description. Printed receipts and kitchen tickets will print out accordingly but it does not look like this option is available for Fresh KDS at this time. You may need to contact them directly for more details.
