Hi,
We have a number of customers who will call up in the morning and place a phone order for a time later in the day - eg. call up and 9am to order for 12pm.
I cannot find a way to input this into Square for a delay pickup - currently it has to show on our KDS screens for 3 hours!
I am aware customers can order through the app for a later time.
Square for Retail allows a pickup order to set a time, however requires instant payment (not able to 'put the order on hold'). This doesn't work for us.
Virtual Terminal will allow an open order, however requires you to be at a computer - this doesn't work for us either.
Is there a way to change the time of the order in Square for Restaurants?

I don't believe this is possible in Square for Restaurants, but I will tag some Super Seller community members that are more familiar with the platform. If it is not possible, they may be able to suggest a work-around. 😊

Currently, there are no manually scheduled orders without payment possible.
What we do is print copies for the cooks and give them a heads up, then Mark the ticket as completed on the KDS, then use the Recall ticket function under the Completed orders (KDS again) to bring it back up when we are ready to complete the order.

You are right that customers from online order are able to place an order to pickup at a scheduled time. (even date if you allow in the setup).
However while ordering from the Register, I did not see any option myself for adding order for a later time. One workaround could be that send a notification course with nothing at first and add new course for all the order items. in KDS, it should appear unless you release the course.
I wont be surprised if someone else might have found better option to achieve this. Will wait to hear more from others.
