[Improvement] Manager approval workflow now available on Team app and Dashboard app
Managers and team members who have the permissions are now able to review, approve and decline team member rotas, timecards and availability requests directly in the Team app and Dashboard app. This includes the following workflows (or a subset of them, depending on the manager’s permissions):
- Timecard Edit Requests
- Shift Cover Requests
- Shift-Swap Requests
- Open-Shift Requests
- Time-Off Requests
Previously, managers could only review, approve/decline timecard requests on Dashboard web, making it difficult to review these requests on the go. With the launch of this workflow in Team app and Dashboard app, managers can now do so conveniently with a tap on their phone.
How do I use this feature?
To use this feature, ensure your ‘Manager’ or equivalent team members have the permission in the Square team list and that those team members download the Team app or Dashboard app. In addition, make sure you’re using the latest version of Team App (v6.23) and Dashboard App (6.53) to access mobile manager approvals.
Once team members request for time off or a shift cover request, managers should get a push notification on their app to review the request. Alternatively, you can also access the request by opening the app and clicking the bell icon to access the notification centre.
To configure settings so your team can approve/decline availability or timecard requests, go to your Permissions and ensure they have ‘Manage timecard reports’ and ‘Manage rotas’ ticked.
