Cash app payments and company name on square terminal issues.

So I've decided to change my business name and I've updated every single spot i could find in the dashboard, but i tested paying with cashapp yesterday and when i scan the barcode the company name that is visible on the customers device is the old company name what is more odd is the email cashapp sent to the customer has the new name, anyone know if this is some how a cashapp issue or is this on the square side since square is generating the qr code scanned.

 

Edit to add photo to be clearer its just the notification pop up of a payment...even the pending transaction has the new name....very odd

I would like to get more details to better assist. The customer scanned the Qr code that was created from Square?  Has this happened with other customers? You did update the name on the Cash app side?

Yes scanned the code that the square terminal created...the next pop up they see is the one with the wrong name...but afterwards when they look at recent transactions in the cashapp it shows the new name...maybe I should disconnect and reconnect cash app but I dont see a way to do that within the dashboard.

Thank you, @JayKav99. Just to clarify, have you updated your Cash App name within the Cash App itself? 

 

If you'd like to remove Cash App Pay as a payment method, you can do so by following these steps: navigate to More > Settings > Checkout > Payment, then click the X next to Cash App Pay. To add it back as a payment method, simply drag it back to the main payment types.

 

Another potential solution is to log out and then log back into the app. 

 

 

If these steps don't resolve the issue, could you please provide a screenshot or video recording of the problem you're encountering? This will help us better understand the issue and provide more targeted assistance.

Thank you Robyn and Maya...It's working now, I dont know what did it since I havent touched the terminal in a couple days but I just tested it again and the correct name is now visible...maybe since the square terminal is the one generating the qr code is takes a lil while for the code to regenerate itself.

I’m having the same issue. The cashapp pay is showing my old business name and logo when scanning. But the business name changes when payed, the logo doesn’t change.
