I setup my discounts on my Square Terminal but when I add an item and go to the checkout I don't see anything that allows me to apply the discounts to the cart/purchase. When I search online it says to apply discounts by selecting Review Sale at Checkout. I don't see any such selection. I can select the menu at the top of the checkout screen but only have options to Redeem Customer Reward, Sell or Check Gift Card or Add Custom Amount. No discount selection if I click on item either. Appreciate any help

- On your Square Terminal, add the items to the cart as usual.
- When you're ready to check out, you should see a "Review Sale" button or an option to review the sale before finalizing the transaction. This is typically where you can apply discounts.
If you do not see the "Review Sale" option:
- Alternative Method:
- After adding items to the cart, look for the three-dot menu (⋮) or the options menu at the top or bottom of the checkout screen.
- Within this menu, you should see an option to apply a discount. The options might include "Add Discount," "Apply Discount," or something similar.
Update Your Terminal Software:
- Ensure that your Square Terminal software is up to date. Sometimes, missing features can be due to outdated software.
- Go to “Settings” on your Square Terminal, then select “Hardware” > “General” > “About Terminal.” Here you can check for and install any available updates.
Restart Your Terminal:
- If you’re still having trouble, try restarting your Square Terminal. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve minor glitches.
Contact Square Support:

Ok here is the deal, everyone always assumed I was running the Retail Plus version of Square and this is Retail Basic. Basic discounts work totally different and none of the above apply. The solution if you are running Retail Basic is to edit the grid to add the discounts tile to the grid then you can just hit it to pop up the discounts that are configured. Hope that helps someone else having the same issue....Mark

No that does not help, this is a configuration issue. What I really need to know is what settings impact the "Review Sale" options for the Square Terminal because it is not showing up.

Let's take a look at your settings.
If you select "More" in the bottom right corner, then choose Settings > Checkout > Payments. At the top of the Payments screen, is "Skip review sale" toggled on?
If not, and this doesn't help, please provide a screen recording of the steps you take to checkout/make a payment or a screenshot of what you see after adding an item to a sale. This will help us better understand what you are experiencing.

Skip Review Sale Toggle is off. All I do is select an item, goto checkout not Review

Sorry accidentally hit Reply before finishing but as you can see when it goes to Cart there is no Review Sale selection. Now support is telling me from the cart to select "Library" to add the discount. Nothing like that here either. It's like I am not even on the software they are talking about as nothing anyone tells me exists on my terminal? Totally frustrated.

First, can you confirm that your Square Terminal is up to date with the latest version?
Next, I see two sets of "..." on the first screenshot. When you click both of the three dots, do you see an option to apply a discount?
Lastly, in the final screenshot, you are showing discounts. Are you unable to click the discount and add it to your cart?
