Owner died, wanted to transfer ownership. No one will help

Square "flagged" my account because I wanted to change ownership. The previous owner is dead. How in gods green earth can I get someone to help me. I've emailed and called and get the same stupid response that they can't help me because "my account is closed"

You keep charging my account for service charges, why?!!

ALSO, this was all done through email. No warning and I had to scramble to get a new platform.

@TTTsupport21678 I think the answer to the question has more to do with the situation.  Once an account owner dies, he/she cannot transfer ownership of anything.  There is no way to give the "permission" needed.   While this may sound obtuse, any assets & liabilities become part of the estate of the previous owner.  Without some sort of will/probate court order, I am pretty sure the terms of service prohibit the assignment of the square account to another person.  There are limited transfer of ownership options with square.

"

  • Presence of Existing Owner: The existing owner of the account must be able to log in to their Square account, verify their identity and be willing to transfer ownership."

This is kind of what I am trying to say.

So I think in this situation, you just download the sales history and then open a new account.
