I just had a $6000 charge back after calling SQUARE to confirm it was good. SQUARE scammed me
I do around $600,000-$800,000 annually through Square card processing. I always thought I had seller protection when I would do an online invoice. It worked great for years. But I recently had a $6000 charge back and got zero help from SQUARE. We will be switching to CLOVER Or another service if I do not get this resolved. I even called Square before letting the product leave my shop to see if it was a legit transaction. They said they confirmed the card user. Don’t use online invoicing. PAYPAL At least has seller protections

I'm just curious, on the $6,000 order is that normal for your size order? Any abnormally large orders would make me triple check or demand a copy of the ID of the person. I take it since it was an online invoice you were shipping the products? In person I make sure the CC/ID match up.
Clover or any other service still has the same charge back protections for the buyer, there isn't a system out there that will protect the merchant or absolve them of responsibility for fraudulent charges unfortunately. I've used everything from clover to traditional credit card processors and 99% of the time if the card was reported stolen you'll lose a chargeback. It sucks and $6,000 is a lot but fraud hits almost every retailer/ecommerce because of the way the card systems are set up to favor the buyer.
Please Require Customers to pick time/date at checkout for Square online. Thanks!
