This doesn't seem to be an active request because I can't comment on the thread at https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Read-only-archive-Square-Payroll/How-do-you-delete-a-team-member-... which is what the subject links me to as an existing request.

 

It's been 6 years of discussion since this wasn't submitted.  I mean, really, why hasn't been done.  There is no legal obligation to keep these employees on the books, and having duplicates, old contractors, dead people and all show up in reports and my "inactive" employee list is ridiculous.  Please fix this.

I put in a new hire, then he wanted to go back to school, rather than work.  How do I cancel a new  hire?  I already deactivated  him as an employee, and never paid him. Just don't want it to go to EDD,  if it does not need to.

You did the right thing by deactivating him 🙂 That info won't go to the EDD. 

So, to clarify, is there no way to delete an employee record?  I accidentally have an employee who was entered twice.

Sorry to hear your employee was entered twice. This is correct, there is no way to completely delete an employee profile you can only deactivate employees/team members.

I have “deactivated” my employee. But he still shows up on the online booking page. He quit but people still can see him and ask to book with him. Wtf?! How do I fix this??

Yeah too bad we can't delete team members. Adding my feedback here so Square knows to prioritize this issue. 

 

I added two consultants to my Square account so they could see if what I wanted was possible. I paid one through another platform and the other didn't end up doing work for me. Will both show up on my taxes? It feels wrong that I don't have control over the team member records that show up.

Hey @szuhlsdorf . Deleting Team Members continues to be a popular request. Were your Team Members on your Payroll? If so, you also had to deactivate them from your Payroll, this could have been a reason why they showed up on your taxes.

Has there been any updates on this? This would be a very helpful feature to make sure everything is organized, entered correctly, and mistakes can be removed without cluttering up the system with too many inactive employees. Are they working on allowing us to delete the inactive employees?

Will you please program a feature that allows merchants the ability to completely delete employees/team members?  This would be very helpful.  Im sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate being able to do this.

 

Ive got duplicate entries for certain folks and its causing issues with business.
