I have two businesses, one is a local retail location that does great and I have multiple employees. The second is a travel agency that also does ok but I only have one employee who is a 1099 per the IRS. The travel company has its own EIN and is its own LLC. We do not process any payments with the travel business. My vendors directly process those payments and then pay me commission (that I pay to my contractor). I did create a new Square Account for the agency but it seemed like a waste of money to pay payroll fees for one contractor (up to 3 maximum) that I pay out a few times a year. I did do the chat feature with Square and they suggested creating a new location in my larger company to pay the contractor. He then walked me through deactivating the contractor and then deleting my account and then walked me through creating a second location. When I go to create add an employee to create a new file for this contractor it doesn't give me an option to pick a location. What am I doing wrong here? I am starting to think the chat agent for Square gave me incorrect information and if so how do I fix it?

For this inquiry, it will be best to reach out to Customer Support to investigate this further. You can reach support at 1-855-700-6000 squ.re/contactsqsupport. To confirm you did cancel Payroll on the second account that just has the contractor?

Ultimately you are not wanting to pay for payroll on two locations, is that correct? That issue has been resolved since you deleted the account and contractor, right? Now the problem is when you are adding the employee under payroll it doesn't give the option to select the location, that is an issue at hand right now? @HelpMePeople.
