sticky thermal paper 1.5" X 170' (40mm)

I am using the Maxstick 1.53 X 170 (40mm) sticky paper with my 2 of my Star Printers with Square Registers. I have only found 2 online stores that carry it currently. 1 store has a minimum order of 10 cases. Does anyone know of any other stores other than MigrationPos or PosSupply that sell it. I wonder is there a machine that will cut the 80mm rolls in half? It just seems this size paper is rare since Square Register started to support it.

Thanks for any info,

Johnny

Got it, the 40 mm would be the Width of the Roll, where as my measurements are of the actual label.  The rolls width is usually a little wider so instead of being 1.5 inches the overall width might be 1.585..... say 1/16 of an inch past both sides of the labels.  I would ask the people at the links I proviced above.  You are comparng the size of basically Receipt paper that you can print width to width on and does not have a page break for a length.  With Sticky labels most companies want to know a few things,

  1. How wide a roll can be to fit your printer
  2. What size Label you actually want to print on
  3. Diameter of the roll you can fit in your printer. I run 8" diameter rolls but have a Paper Stand outside that holds these.  The max Diameter for my printer is 4" and width is also 4".
  4. The other thing they may ask you about is how big a Core you use.  This is what the label (Receipt paper) is attached to.

So what I would do after Hours, is set up your current printer and figure out what is the widest and higest label you may want or need to print.  Add 1/16th of an inch on all 4 sides at minimum.  Then that would be the label size you would want.  Just make sure that the overall width will still fit your printer.  Is the 40mm paper loose side to side or is it tight?  Also at 170' long, is this roll of paper barely fitting your printer?  Most rolls are about 230' long, and there fore a little larger for the diameter of a new roll.

40 mm is equal to 1.574803 inches, so you could use a label of about 1-3/8 wide label with a buffer and still fit your printer.  This is if the receipt paper is almost tight by width in your printer.  Like my Printer it can take an 80mm wide roll but can also use smaller with rolls like your 40 mm wide roll.

I believe both of the places I suggested can also do Custom labels.  I asked one of them to make Barbell labels with an 8" Diameter instead of a 4" diameter.  This gave me alot more labels per roll and a lower price per label.  I am just suggestng custom labels if you see the Size you need but need a slightly different roll diameter this could be an option.

The Label Size your given me is almost impossible to search for since the first set 1.5 is in inches and the second size is 170 (40mm)

So are you looking for a 1.5 by 1.5 Square label or are you looking for a 1.5 x 1.75 inch label?

Here are 2 sites I have used in the past for my labels for my Zebra printers.

These links take you to the 1.5x1.5 inch square size sticky Direct thermal labels.  One of the sites you can buy 1 Roll of labels and the other is also a case of 18 rolls I believe.

The Below links take you right to 1.5x1.5 labels and you may have to search for your exact size.  I put 40 mm which comes out to 1.57 inches.

1.5 x 1.5 inch squares?

These are just generic Label rolls for direct thermal printers.  As I said I use these brands for my Zebra Printers and have not tried on your exact printer.  I also have bought some from local print shops in custom sizes.  You may want to look for a local printer that does labes, they might be able to get you exactly what your looking for.

Hi,

I wrote it wrong. It is 1.5 inch by 170 ft long rolls.  Which is technically referred to as 40MM by Star Micronics. This is for the Star TSP654IISK Sticky Label Printer. Maxstick makes 80mm, 58mm and 40mm rolls for this printer. The 40mm is perfect for cups.
