We are a new business using square. we have a square register for checkout. Please can someone tell us how to sell physical gift cards using the register. We can do it easy enough using the app on a phone or tablet, but don't see the option for gift cards on the register.
Is it a setting we need to toggle, or are we all missing something that's in plain sight

I got it worked out. Got a message from someone at square (after sending a couple requests in), and it was a simple but not obvious solution. At the top right of the checkout screen on the square register are 3 small dots. When you tap on them, a drop-down includes a button to sell physical gift cards
Hello, We created an item "Gift Certificates" (these are paper form not credit card form) we made it a variable price. This allows any amount to be applied. Once it is paid for we print an additional receipt and place it in our gift certificate binder with the corresponding Gift certificate number. We also have clients that can purchase virtual gift cards from our online store. I have yet to look into the physical credit card gift cards that square offers yet. Thank you and good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. We are using the physical square gift cards. I received an email from square so I'm going to try their suggestion today

Hi. How did you get a hold of someone from square our rep seems to have fallen off the face of the earth?
any suggestions on how or who to get ahold of for gift card questions.
