Despite "Offline" mode being enabled, when the internet goes down our register fails to enter Offline mode. When there is no internet and the register is not in offline mode, we can't operate our business. How can we force our Square Register to go into offline mode?

Hey @square_marc I see that you are a Beta member. Is it possible you are testing something within the register where this could possibly be a bug you should be reporting within the beta community?
Is this a recent problem or have you never been able to get your register into offline mode? what happens if you toggle your network off, does the register still not enter offline mode?
You could try shutting down your register and booting it back up after a few minutes. This might allow any update that needs to be done to do so.

Thanks for the follow up. Not sure why it shows me as a beta member -- we did some testing for one specific feature a long time ago. Not related to this.
Not a new issue. Our Register uses Ethernet so there is no way to toggle the network "off." Our registers have gone into Offline mode in the past.
Our registers get updated nightly whenever there is a software update and their software is currently up to date.

Jumping in here for @Lovewell!
To enable Offline Mode:
From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap More.
Tap Settings > Checkout > Offline Mode.
Toggle Allow Offline Mode to on, you’ll see a slider on the right hand side of your screen.
Review the information and then tap Allow Offline Mode.
If your device goes into offline mode by itself, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Forget the network you are connected to on your device.
- Reconnect to the same network.
- Reboot the system by using the power on the bottom edge of Square Register.
