Here’s a quick summary:

How to Actually Build Brand and Sales in the New Social Media World

Gary Vaynerchuk offers fresh, in-depth advice to enhance brand development, grow sales, and beat the competition using modern advertising strategies grounded in social media; that the biggest transformation and opportunity is the “TikTokification of Social Media.” Increasingly, platforms are distributing content based on what users are interested in, rather than who they follow. Small businesses, large corporations, and creators can take advantage of this trend to develop brands and grow sales by producing relevant, strategic content, even if they don’t have an audience. Vaynerchuk reveals the tactics to master modern advertising with strategies you can apply to the moment you’re currently living in.”

We’ll start reading on Tuesday, September 3rd, so get ready and pick up a copy at a local library, bookstore, Amazon, or anywhere else!

We also have a wonderful special guest co-hosting this round of our book club! Give a warm welcome to @DinaLRosenberg, co-owner of Amityville Apothecary in Amityville, New York. With an MBA, a ton of small business experience, and an absolute expertise in all things social media, she is the perfect person to help guide us through this book.

We’ll have discussion threads being posted throughout the next two months, and an opportunity to discuss the strategies we’ve learned from the book live in a video chat at the end of October.

Don’t forget to:

We can’t wait to read with you!

It's on order!  I'm looking forward to hearing what he suggests and see if it's anything different than what I already do... happy reading!

nice!

I purchased the audio and physical version of this book and I'm going to try (for the first time) Listening and Reading to the book at the same time. I hear it's a great way to engage different parts of the brain while learning. We'll see how much I take in 🙂

Nice, @LukeNieuw ! Definitely seems like a great one to listen to and also have the written version to follow along. Let us know how that goes!

Does Gary read the audio? When he does it's great- he adds a lot of side notes!

I believe he does! One of the main reasons I love listening to his audiobooks instead of reading is because of those notes. sometimes they turn into side tangents lol

I love when an author reads their own books, and that's so cool that he adds asides and tangents and some "free" extra content, @schaefferjosh !

Let us know how it goes and how you like it!

This is my first read of his and I'd never heard of him before Book Club.  What is it you don't like about him or his work?

I find it interesting that he is so polarizing to some people. I really don't know much about his personal life, etc but only have experience with him as it relates to social media recommendations.

I understand why people like him. There are also a lot of reasons to not like him.

Personally I don't like him because I used to follow him back when I dreamed of having my own business and I thought his advise was revolutionary, and then I finally started my coffee shop and realized it wasn't anything that I couldn't've just figured out normally. The final kicker for me was when he convinced his audience base to pull their savings to buy all his NFTs for thousands of dollars each, making him millions of dollars.

Since I've stopped following him he got a divorce from his long time wife to start dating a younger 'hotter' woman. And that's none of my business but a lot of people don't like him for that because it's contrary to the family and relationship advise he use to promote.

Totally fair -- thanks for sharing some extra context and your perspective, @BrianaJo !

Absolutely zero pressure to join in on this one, and looking forward to having ya for the next one! Keep an eye out for the next round of voting-

yeah- I knew about both..

the situation with his wife was completely disappointing. I think when people are in the public we have higher-hopes for them.. and I totally get what you're saying on the NFTs- I was left scratching my head there as well. I do think though he does have more "wins" than losses especially as it relates to social media.

Thanks for sharing with me!  I appreciate the insight and will consider his work carefully.  If I had known him before this book, I would most likely agree with you, those are things that I would not be happy about either.
