Hello Pesso, Everyone,
I have just joined too, after receiving an email invitation.
I am not sure how to start a new thread/chat/conversation yet, so I just reply here...
I am a #1 International Bestselling Author and Business/Executive Coach. I use Square mostly when I do speaking or events and do a book signing, as most of my coaching business are paid by Paypal and/or direct bank transfers.
My book: Connection - The Currency to Happiness; Access Your Happiness Right, Right Now has achieved #1 bestseller in Australia, Canada, UK & #5 in US, making it #1 International bestseller and many readers have become published authors after reading the book. I have received many heart-warming reviews sent directly to me.
I published the book because of two kids who took their own lives due to cyber-bullying. As an extension of the book, I have started 3Hearts, a project that has helped many people stay connected and transform their lives during COVID, and I offered the service for free.
Here's my LinkedIn profile as a way to introduce myself - https://www.linkedin.com/in/linda-duong-author
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this community!
Kind regards,
Linda Duong

Hello. I'm Kara and I've been a small business owner since 2017 in the real estate industry, but my passion is crafting and I'm working toward creating an Etsy store and doing craft markets. My passion for the things I love has always been a big part of me, which is how I came up with my brand Corgis, Crocs and Coffee. People know me for these three things and it just fell into place. I have 2 corgis, a collection of Crocs (yes, the shoes. They're comfy and sexy ๐), and I collect coffee mugs from everywhere I go. Along with my 2 corgis, I also have 4 rescue kitties. 3 Black cats and a tiny tuxedo tiger who will forever look like a kitten ๐โโฌ.
I never realized this app had a thriving community within it that did stuff like this. I'm excited to jump in and get to know other like minded business owners.
My favorite fun books are the Irish and Key trilogies by Nora Roberts. I haven't yet picked a favorite business book. I just read Superfans and it was really interesting and informative for marketing.

Welcome @Corgi-Mom to the Seller Community and the Book Club! We're excited to have you here too-
That's so exciting that you're expanding your crafting passion into a business. I love that brand and that you're chasing your passions and a great niche! I highly recommend joining our Artists & Makers Group too, so you can connect with other crafters.
Thanks for sharing so much about yourself and that adorable pup pic! Feel free to post as many pet photos as possible, haha.
Ooh I haven't read Superfans yet, but I'll definitely look into it-
Thanks again for being here! You can check out our current & previous books here, and I hope you join us starting our next book The Mountain Is You on July 1st.

Welcome again, and thanks so much for joining us, @dainraydevon !
Definitely check out the previous books we've read together over on our Bookshelf, and see the summaries and discussions we've had for each of them. We just finished Day Trading Attention all about social media use, and The 1-Page Marketing Plan could be super useful too!
We'll be starting our next book in January, and hope you can join us for it!

Hello, Everyone!
I just joined this group the other day after the Celebration 2024 event.
My name is Emily Mitchell, and I own and operate a small music studio in the small, rural town of Eatonville, WA called Emily's Music Studio. My main bread-and-butter is teaching private instruction to individuals in the community, but I have also created a summer musical theatre program that people love to join every year.
I no longer have an official website because more people interacted with my social media accounts than my actual website, so it became more cost- and time-effective to focus my energies there. Anyone who would like to check out my programs can follow me on Facebook and Instagram @emilysmusicstudio.
I'm hoping to gain some more insights on successfully running a business as I sort of just jumped in with two feet and have been figuring it out as I go. There are some things I do very well, but I know there are other things that I could use more insight to help me achieve my goals.
I'm an avid reader so picking one book is difficult, but my top two favorite authors are Augusten Burroughs and Stephen King.
Attached is a silly photo of me at my studio offering costume rentals for Halloween!

Thanks so much for joining us and sharing, @EMstudioWA !
That's so cool that you've expanded the music lessons into also doing a musical theater program!
So interesting that you wound down your website in favor of just social media. How has that been working out?
I totally get the just jumping in to business thing. Are there any specific elements of running a business that you're looking to learn about?
Love the photo, and thanks again for sharing so much-

Iโve found that focusing on social media rather than maintaining a website also has worked really well for me! Most of my customers are on those platforms already so I get to meet them where they are, and they donโt have to redirect to another page. They can find the information theyโre looking for and contact me just as they would with a website, but with fewer steps. Plus I gain a wider reach through interactions and algorithms on social media than I did with my website.
Iโm not sure if thereโs anything specific Iโm looking to learn about running a business; mostly just curious if thereโs anything I should be doing differently. Iโve had my studio for over 13 years now so I must be doing something right, but at the same time Iโm sure there are things I could streamline or do better.

Those are such great points, @EMstudioWA , thanks so much for going into more detail there! Gotta meet your customers where they're at, and it sounds like you're doing just that with this strategy, and it's working! Love the extra reach you get that way by focusing all your efforts in one place.
Totally fair! It definitely sounds like you're doing a lot right, but I totally agree -- there's always more to learn. Really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on our books through our discussion threads. We're starting up Unreasonable Hospitality on January 6th and hope you join us for it-

Hi, all!
My name is Kristin and I am from the Midwest (OH to be specific) - I am an office manager here at The Cedar Coffee + Wine, thecedarcoffee.com
I'm hoping to learn more about non-industry-specific skills in business and entrepreneurship, and stay up-to-date on the upcoming trends and historically reliable ideologies as well!
I would say that my favorite business-related book to date is the tried and true "Atomic Habits" by James Clear.

Welcome to the group and thanks for sharing, @thecedar !
Your space looks incredible, and I love a good combo business -- can't go wrong with coffee and wine and chocolate!
Are there any particular skill sets that you're looking to learn?
I've heard great things about Atomic Habits -- are there any key learnings from it that stuck with you and you still use today?
Thanks again for joining, and looking forward to seeing you in our discussions when we start up the next book in January!

Thank you! I'm probably biased but I have to agree, quite a perfect combination ๐
Primarily developing new perspectives and ways of thinking that I haven't come across before!
Best takeaway off the top of my head is that you can game-ify your habits/routines and that just showing up is often the hardest step to take.
Looking forward to it!

I love all of that so much! Gamification is such a powerful tool for EVERYTHING, so I'm really looking forward to getting to read that one.
Thanks again and so glad you're here, @thecedar !
