My Square App doesn't have an option to add Square Readers

Hi! I can provide screenshots for this, but for some reason, my Square App doesn't have an option to add a Square reader to the hardware section. I've followed all the steps, and both my Samsung S21+ and my iPad Air 4th Gen are updated, including the Square App itself. I've also turned Bluetooth on and off, I've restarted my phone, and I've also restarted my Square reader as well, but none of this has worked.

 

I've reached out to customer service but haven't gotten a reply. I'm just worried because this is a Christmas present and I didn't want to burst my mom's bubble if it doesn't work.
