Tap to pay erroneously validating a transaction at point of sale.

Has anyone else had this issue?  I used tap to pay, it was validated with sound and visual effects on iPhone.  Later it was not in my transaction history.  I also received no notice that the transaction was not complete or having an issue of any kind. Customer service basically said there was nothing they can do.  I even got laughed at and hung up on.  I did not treat the customer service badly.  I was not offered any assurance that this would not happen again.  Very disappointing , I will start the process of using Zelle or another banking app any chance I get.  So disappointing after giving years of business.

My question, and can't check it now, is did the transaction complete at the time?  after the phone said it made a payment did the POS continue on to asking about receipts and go to start a new transaction.  If I ever feel something didn't go right, like a CC timeout with an internet glitch, the first thing I do with the customer there is to check the transaction history to see if that transaction that just happened is there.  If it went well it should be there basically the second that it takes place, there is no delay in it showing up.

Having the sound and visual on the phone really doesn't mean anything as there are criminals out there who have reordered that sound and action from a valid transaction who then cancel out of the transaction, while it looks like they are paying.  What matters is what does it show in your transaction log.

@Roady ;

There was a story on a news channel in California, I forget which one, where vendors had a similar issue.  What was learned was thieves, use an app on thier phone that changed the Payment to Cash or Cancelled it all together.  The merchant would think the Transaction went through because the customer did not want a Receipt.  Key words are No receipt.  When you do not see the ability to Print, Text, or Email a receipt chances are they are scamming you.  Check your Transacations right away to see if it appears, because it should appear on your system almost immediately.  Since I saw this report, when ever someone uses the tap to pay with an electronic device, I make sure the Receipt questions appear and the Transaction went through right away.   So far I have not had an issue.  Do not get me started with the Zelle process because WellsFargo locked a different account we had because someone asked for money to be sent to an email that was linked to this account.  Now we are not able to log into their account by a Computer or other device and all transactions must be done at the bank.   This was for a business my wife was starting and working with her sister in a different state.  The best part was when she noticed the deposit, she called Wellsfargo and said there was an error, this deposit should not be there.  Wells took the money then Locked the account and said she was scamming people.

Just Google Zelle Lawsuit and this is what you will see.  This search below I did when I was writting this :
