Switch from iPad to register

We currently are using the iPad and card reader for our coffee shop but Ive been thinking of switching to the register.

My question is, do I have to start over with setting up my items or is there a way to move all items/categories/modifiers/online from one system the the other?

Hey @thebrim110.  Square Register is basically just different hardware.  It uses the same POS apps that we use on iPads and Android tablets.  So switching to Registers is basically just switching hardware.  All of our Square account information is exactly the same, no matter the platform we choose to use.

I was hoping that was the case, thank you!!

 

maybe you can also answer if there have been improvements on the sticky label printer?? I know previous users said the labels were to long to add to cups and used way to much paper

The other thing you can do with Square is that since you already have a Square Stand and looking into getting a Register, You can use both devices if you like on your one account.  Meaning have the Stand for Drive up and the Register for walkin customers or vice versa.  They would both be linked to One Square account and just be at one location.  The other thing is while learning the little differences of the New hardware you still have the back up of the original that you are use to.    The adding of Devices for a Point of sale with no extra monthly fees was one thing I really like about Square.    

As with @TheRealChipA , I have no idea about the Sticky Label with hardware at the Point of Sale devices.  I have a sepperate computer that is dedicated to print my product labels. 

Currently on my 1 account I am using 2 Square Stands and 1 walk around Ipad, plus 2 cell phones that all connect to my one Square account. I just set all these up to connect to my Square account by logging in to square by a device code.   To see how easy it is to connect a new device like the Register, user your information and you could log in and detup your cell as a point of sale after downloading the app.  Works great to keep an eye on how things are going when your off. Just download the Square point of sale app on your cell and Login to you Square Account with your current information.
