Selling tickets to one event with different prices

We  want to have an event where there are two options for ticket prices, cannot see how to do this as variations only let you selct one or the other.

Is there a way to set up an event so you can select x numbers of tickets at one price and x number at a different price?

Maybe I'm not understanding your question but, seems to me if you're only selling one type of ticket with two different prices, why not setup two separate items - Ticket A = $ Amount and Ticket B = $  Amount
